You’ve probably used this common phrase, used to describe someone calm and composed no matter the circumstances – but you’ve got to admit it’s pretty funny. It comes from England and likely derives from the actual make-up of cucumbers. The crisp veggies are able to stay about 20 degrees cooler (on the inside) than the outer temperature.
