Face the World Without Crutches Never drink to excess and never use alcohol as an emotional crutch. When life gets heavy, face those difficult situations head-on with an open eye and a clear mind. Treat your thoughts and your body as your ultimate assets; don’t cloud the very tools you need to build your legacy and enjoy your hard-earned success. Always remember that alcohol is ultimately ethanol, the exact same stuff that powers your car. Practice Moderation in All Things Live by the rule of moderation including moderation itself. Allow yourself the grace to enjoy life’s finest pleasures, a beautiful meal, or a wonderful night out, but never let those things master you. Self-control is the truest, most liberating form of freedom. Step Away from the Screen Don’t scroll on your phone and waste endless, precious hours of your life. Disconnect to reconnect. Put your phone on silent, leave it entirely outside of your bedroom, and protect a strict block of phone-free downtime every single day. Stop scrolling through life and start actively living it. Stop Worrying and Silence the Critic We spend so much time sweating the small stuff. Next time you feel overwhelmed by a problem, ask yourself: “Will I care about this in five years’ time?” If the answer is no, drop it immediately. Be incredibly kind to yourself, and do not let that harsh, critical voice in your head take the driver’s seat. Embrace the Discomfort of Change Change is hard. It can feel deeply uncomfortable, messy, and unsettling for a time. But don’t run away from it. Live through the temporary discomfort, trust the process, and know that you will come out the other side smiling, stronger than before. Hunt Down Your Good Ideas If you have a brilliant idea, follow it through with everything you’ve got. Don’t sit around compiling a list of all the reasons you can’t do something, start focusing on all the reasons you can.
