Between 1972 and 1978, John Wayne Gacy, Jr murdered at least 33 men in Illinois, USA. It was inadvertently launched into the sea as a result of a tsunami off the coast of Japan in 2011 (along with about 5 million tonnes of debris). This is one of them: a bell once belonging to the Whydah Gally was discovered in the murky waters of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USA in 1984. The passenger, cargo and slave ship was launched from London in 1716 and is believed to have been captured by pirates the following year. It was caught in a storm and wrecked off the coast of Cape Cod. The wreck was discovered under 15 metres of sand.
