Mitre saw stand

1. Cut and begin assembly
Cut plywood (see Diagram). Glue sides to the bottom shelf and clamp. Drill four 4.5mm clearance holes through the sides, keeping outside holes 50mm in from the edge to avoid splitting. Fasten with 40mm x 8g particleboard screws.

2. Add top shelf
Support the top shelf (B) with temporary supports, or use a combination square set at 100mm as a guide for positioning. Apply PVA glue to the shelf ends, drill 3mm pilot holes and secure the shelf with four 40mm screws on each side.

3. Fix the back
Check the 7mm ply backing is square. Apply PVA glue to the back edges of assembled unit and lay back in position. Fix one edge with 25mm x 1.6mm flathead nails. Keep back flush, fix with a nail at opposite side, check for square and fix all edges.

4. Construct the drawer
These metal runners need 12.5mm clearance each side. Screw drawer sides (G) to the back and front (H) with 40mm x 8g screws. Glue and nail one edge of bottom (J) to the drawer. Square and nail other sides with flathead nails.
