6 things you might not know about London
![]() London is the largest city in Europe and home to over 7 million people. Dating back to Roman times, the population has remained ethnically diverse - Jews, Muslims and Dutch traders arrived during the Middle Ages and centuries of slave trade contributed to a growing black community. Immigrant numbers rose during WW ll, and again post-war as the worker shortage saw an influx from the West Indies, Europe, and Asia. Today, there are 200 different ethnics and 300 languages spoken throughout London.
