For large holes that can’t be repaired with just a filling compound, remove the damaged section, cutting it to the wall studs then add timber supports for securing a new piece of plasterboard
How to patch up plasterboard
![]() ●1 LOCATE THE WALL STUDS by using a stud finder or reaching through the hole then mark the cut lines just inside the studs and about 70mm above and below the hole, using a spirit level to ensure the lines are plumb and level.
