Glue Photo: From Reader's Digest

● The most dangerous ingredient in many glues is the solvent – rapid-drying solvent-based glues give off toxic fumes.Try to select a water-based product rather than a solvent-based one.

● It is difficult to find alternatives for some special-purpose adhesives such as epoxy glues, contact adhesives, rubber cements, instant glues and hobby glues. But most contain toxic ingredients, such as hexane, xylene, trichloroethane, acetone and toluene, so use them with caution and always in well-ventilated areas.

● The least toxic glues are white glue (PVA), and paste-based glue sticks. For children, the best glue is a combination of flour and water.
