Fish Tank Stand
Show off your fish tank with a display and storage unit.

for the cabinet legs, end rails, front and back rails.
Wenge Particleboard
for cabinet end panels, doors and top, bottom and side fascias, plus for the hood ends, front, top and lid.
Plywood
for the top of the cabinet and the shelf.
Western Cedar
for the hood-supporting rails.

STEP 1
Drill the dowel holes
Mark out the location of the top and bottom end rails for the end frames. Use dowel centres to locate the dowel positions and drill 10mm-diameter x 22mm-deep holes.
TIP Use masking tape around the drill bit as a depth guide.

STEP 2
Make the end frames
Dowel and glue the end frames< together, using two 38mm x 10mm dowels in each joint (see Diagram 1). Clamp the frame, ensuring the legs and rails are touching the clamps on the underside. Allow to dry.

STEP 3
Add front and back rails
Mark and drill corresponding dowel holes in the ends of the front and back rails and the inside faces of the end frames. Apply glue to the holes, tap in dowels and fit the end frames and rails together, clamp to hold secure.
